Traffic & Pedestrian Circulation Changes Expected
Two Terminal Roadways at ROC Closed through October 2018

Beginning Friday, April 13, 2018 a temporary road closure will be in effect at the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) for ALL Upper Level Roadway Departures Traffic. The road closure will be posted and detour signs will direct all vehicles to drop off passengers flying out on the Lower Level Arrivals Roadway until the terminal canopy project is complete in October 2018.  Passengers should expect lane reductions upon entering terminal property from Brooks Avenue.

Also, a temporary road closure is still in effect at the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) for ALL Lower Level, Outer Roadway Traffic. That road closure has been posted since October 2017 and detour signs have been directing all vehicles that normally use this roadway to use an alternate traffic pattern until the terminal canopy project is complete in October 2018.

These terminal roadway closures are necessary for the terminal entrance canopy construction to continue over the elevated roadway that traverses the front of the passenger terminal. This means that there is a reduction by two roadways that traverse the terminal and all traffic will be using one terminal roadway for both Departures and Arrivals.

Traffic patterns to the Airport Terminal will be modified during this project, however the Airport Terminal & Airport Parking will be accessible to passengers from Brooks Avenue at all times.

Elevators and Escalators are located near each Lower Level entrance for passenger access to the ticketing lobby. Skycap assistance will also be available for departing passengers on the lower level roadway and to provide wheelchair assistance.

Pick Up and Drop off for RTS Bus, Rideshare, Taxi Cabs, Parking Shuttles and Hotel Shuttles will all take place on the Lower Level Arrivals roadway during this period. Valet Parking services will be unavailable to passengers during this period however Premium Parking in the Long Term Ramp Garage is an alternative option. Passengers who park in the Long Term Ramp Garage will be able to access the ticketing lobby via the elevated walkway during the majority of this period.

Family and friends picking up travelers are encouraged to stage in the new Smart Phone Lot located PRIOR to reaching the terminal in an effort to reduce unnecessary congestion on the Lower Level Arrivals roadway. Local law enforcement will be on site to keep traffic flow moving especially during peak periods.

As always, passengers are reminded to arrive at the Airport at least 90 minutes prior to their departure times and to follow detour signage during this period.

These roadway closures will be remain in effect throughout the spring, summer and fall until the terminal revitalization project is complete in October 2018.
