The Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) is hosting a public information meeting on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 7:00 PM in the International Arrivals Hall about the Airport Technology Incubator Feasibility Study.  The meeting will include a presentation about the study, as well as an interactive exercise designed to seek feedback from members of the public.

The Technology Incubator Feasibility Study will explore the possibility of creating an on-site private/public/academic partnership for product development, particularly for smart transportation industry focused technology in a space where local institutions of higher learning and entrepreneurs can research, develop and test products.

If the study finds that there would be significant benefit to the regional economy and the decision is made to move forward, construction could happen in 2019 as part of a second phase of the project. The Technology Incubator Feasibility Study is part of the larger ROC Renovation project, which is intended to both transform and enhance the airport terminal, inside and out, create a high-tech smart facility that best serves the business and economic needs of families in the Finger Lakes Region, while reducing barriers for passengers with disabilities.

The feasibility study is being led by the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC), with assistance from a consulting team headed by Explorer Solutions, C&S Companies, Highland Planning, and Timothy Haahs & Associates. Explorer Solutions has helped communities across North America implement successful airport planning and economic development initiatives.

Attendees must RSVP for the meeting by clicking here.

Additional Information: Attendees should use the short term parking lot.  Enter the terminal and proceed straight on the ground floor to the hallway labeled US Customs/International Arrivals Hall.
