During her State of the County address earlier this week, Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo highlighted the major revitalization efforts taking place at the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) over the next 18 months.
The County Executive stated the importance of having a first-class economy, a first-class community and a first-class front door – the ROC Airport.
“ROC is the front door to not only Monroe County but the Finger Lakes region as well,” said Dinolfo. “What does the Airport say about us? What first impression are we making on visitors and businesses? We want them to know what we already know, that Monroe County is a great place to live and work so they will join us, locate here, stay here and bring their jobs here.”
ROC was the first winner in the New York State Airport Revitalization Competition, earning $40 Million in State dollars to fund the $54 Million revitalization project.
In the speech, Dinolfo touted the transformational project that will deliver a first-class airport, create hundreds of local construction jobs and continue to support the nearly 10,000 jobs directly and indirectly supported by Airport economic activity.
